BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT

Are you having difficulty feeding your baby?

If you are, you are not alone. So many women face feeding challenges, especially in the first few weeks- nipple pain, cracked nipples, engorgement, concerns about milk supply, blocked ducts, mastitis, unsettled baby, colic, breast refusal…any of those sound familiar? Unfortunately it can be really hard to find the support that you need.

Or, perhaps you are pregnant and you want to be as prepared as possible for the infant feeding journey you have ahead?

As an Infant Feeding Coach and former midwife, I not only have extensive experience but I am also passionate about providing accurate, consistent, gentle, open-minded and compassionate infant feeding support.

I will help you feel supported on your feeding journey and together, we will work towards achieving your feeding goals whether that’s exclusive breastfeeding, mixed feeding, exclusive expressing, bottle feeding or anything in between.

Antenatal Preparation

Get your infant feeding journey off to the best start by booking an antenatal preparation appointment with me. This can take place either in your home or online.

I will design the appointment so it is bespoke to your particular needs and requirements. Topics that are commonly covered are; antenatal colostrum collection, hand expressing technique, the golden hours after birth, infant feeding cues and behaviour, breastfeeding positioning and attachment and postnatal recovery planning.

During the appointment we will complete a bespoke infant feeding and postnatal recovery plan for you to take away with you.

1.5 hour appointment: £85

I cover Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties, travel fees may apply if you’re further than 20 miles from Enstone, Oxfordshire.

Postnatal Appointments

I can visit you in your home to carry out a feeding consultation. I will take a full history of the baby's birth and feeding so far as well as any relevant pregnancy and health information. I will observe a full feed and then discuss feeding cues and infant behaviour, support you in achieving optimal positioning and attachment, and suggest solutions for any issues you may be experiencing. I will also support you with expressing breastmilk and bottle feeding as required.

Together we will come up with a bespoke and realistic plan to help you achieve your feeding goals. I will make sure I leave you feeling comfortable and confident and will offer follow up visits as required or requested by you.

Initial 1.5 hour consultation: £85 Additional time and follow up visits will be charged at £60/hour

I cover Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties, travel fees may apply if you’re further than 20 miles from Enstone, Oxfordshire. Online appointments can also be arranged as required.

WHAT IS AN INFANT FEEDING COACH?

An Infant Feeding Coach is similar to a Breastfeeding Counsellor, we have specialised knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding and human lactation and are accredited by FEDANT and The Infant Feeding Academy. You can find me on the FEDANT register and the Infant Feeding Coach Directory.

As an Infant Feeding Coach I support and encourage new parents to successfully meet their infant feeding goals through evidence based, holistic, non-judgmental, compassionate care.

I am trained to perform comprehensive feeding assessments resulting in suggestions to ease any issues you may be experiencing and the implementation of an individualised feeding plan.

As an Infant Feeding Coach I also love to support and educate women and their families antenatally to equip them with the knowledge they need to get their motherhood and infant feeding journey off the the best start.
